Manny’s Construction and Demolition

To: Tommy Herbert- Head Architect, CSP

From: Manny Chimbo- Chief Executive MCD

Subject: New Green Residential Building at the corner of 169th to 170th Grant Ave Bronx NY 10456

Date: February 19th 2020

The purpose of this memo is to provide what is to be expected and to be achieved by CSP and to present a new and innovative residential building that will prove to be eco-friendly. The new added building will provide housing for newcomers in the neighborhood and make use of the abandoned playground.

SUMMARY

In hindsight, the main goal is to create a new eco-friendly residential building that will be located in the Bronx. There is a strip of an abandoned playground that has been closed as of 2013 and nobody has made an attempt to change that. The residential building will be 10 to 12 stories high with 5 three-four bedroom apartments, 5 one-two bedroom apartments, 3 studios on each floor, and 2 big storage units for extra space if needed. There will be a playground on the roof fully secured for everyone’s safety, a gym and pool in the basement. There are schools, local delis, public transportation, stores all within walking distance. The building will prioritize the idea of eco-friendly by using solar panels, water usages, and environmental surroundings.

DISCUSSION

The abandoned playground that is no longer touched or worked on, has been taken up space that could be used for other purposes. With the implementation on the new residential building it will provide housing for people and create a better and bigger community. And with the building being eco-friendly it will be doing justice for the surrounding environment.

                          Figure 1 Figure 2

Take a look at Figure 1 and 2 as you can see clearly that the park has been closed off and blocked the public from viewing inside and walking down the block you can see and abandoned area that has not been cleaned up in a long time. But once we begin to build the new building the area will clear up, the buildings would follow a more modern style building like the ones in Manhattan. It will cause gentrification to occur but it will stay affordable for those who were originally living in the area like the lower class and middle class residents. We need to create a building where people will be willing to live and stay for many years instead of leaving after the first year.

               Figure 3       Figure 4

If you look at figure 3 this is what we plan to install to help with the electricity of the building and to help power it up fully for the building and it will be able to store mass amounts of electricity for the days where it can not produce as much electricity.  Figure for will help deal with the water aspect and help use water like rain water purify it and make it water one can use to bathe oneself and even drink it will be able to store and we use water after every usage and it will continue to purify it so it would cause no harm to the residents.

Recommandation

It would be wonderful to be able to meet with you in public and talk more about the project and talk more in depth on a few points that were left out and need more time to discuss. I personally think we could create something grand that would be beneficial to the environment. There are schools, local delis, public transportation, stores all within walking distance. The building will prioritize the idea of eco-friendly by using solar panels, water usages, and environmental surroundings.

The abandoned playground that is no longer touched or worked on, has been taken up space that could be used for other purposes. With the implementation on the new residential building it will provide housing for people and create a better and bigger community. And with the building being eco-friendly it will be doing justice for the surrounding environment.

                          Figure 2 Figure 3

Take a look at Figure 2 and 3 as you can see clearly that the park has been closed off and blocked the public from viewing inside and walking down the block you can see and abandoned area that has not been cleaned up in a long time.

               Figure 4       Figure 5

If you look at figure 3 this is what we plan to install to help with the electricity of the building and to help power generators that will be located in another location which it will store power and it will provide power for the building and when there are days where there is not much sun giving power then the stored energy will be used as electricity.  Figure 4 will help deal with the water aspect and help use water like rain water purify it and make it water one can use to bathe oneself and even drink it will be able to store and we use water after every usage and it will continue to purify it so it would cause no harm to the residents. So there would be drains scattered around the complex on the ground that would collect rainwater and would be directed to a giant water tank that will go into a filtration system that will run a process and created reusable water and it will be runned through tubes to each complex and when is necessary it will run the water once it is turned one.
